Poroshell 120 StableBond SB-C8
The StableBond SB-8 bonded phase is made by chemically bonding a sterically-protected C8 stationary phase to the porous shell of the Poroshell 120 silica support. The densely-covered, sterically-protected diisopropyl-n-octylsilane stationary phase is chemically stable and gives longer column life. The Agilent Poroshell 120 SB-C8 column is non-endcapped for greater alternative selectivity. It can be used for basic, neutral or acidic samples, and is particularly well suited for use with aggressive low pH mobile phases (for example, pH <2, high ionic strength (> 25 mM), ion-pair additives, etc.) since the steric protection of the bonded phase resists degradation with such mobile phases. This phase used in many established USP methods, and enables method transfer from existing ZORBAX SB-C8 columns in these methods.

Start with 5% methanol or acetonitrile in water as the initial solvent, and 100% methanol or acetonitrile as the final solvent. We recommend adding 0.1% formic acid in both A and B bottles. If using LC/MS, we recommend starting with 5 - 10 mM ammonium formate, ammonium acetate, ammonium hydroxide, 0.1% acetic acid or 0.1% formic acid. We recommend against using ammonium bicarbonate.
